I heard about this thing from one of those fashionable design blogs. You know the type: cool blogs featuring expensive, good looking stuff that you could never afford to purchase but that you think about buying anyway. Of course, you think about buying the handcrafted reading table / computer hub along with daydreaming about your tall Norwegian supermodel girlfriend.

So what is ColorCalm? Quite simply, it's a DVD that's meant to be used as a relaxation element. With (gorgeous, really) video of clouds drifting and forming in the skies, ColorCalm allows you several options that you can choose from when using the DVD. You can choose from a selection of sky colors, and several musical elements including ambient, natural and classical music.

Practically speaking, it's the perfect kind of thing to have on in the background when you're trying to write or do something important. It's not so distracting that you'll turn around and look every minute, but if you do, you're not seeing some terrible thing (like Access Hollywood or Extra.)

Ahhhh. Clouds.

There's not too much that you can say about this DVD. You know exactly what you're getting, and the disc delivers. The video is top notch, the audio calming and relaxing. So in that sense, it accomplishes completely what it set out to do. In my impromptu, experimentation, I was strangely lulled to sleep's clutches, as I sat on my bed just "reviewing" this disc. It'd be great for a party too, and not surprisingly, would probably be the centerpiece of conversation

Of course the disc is best on a plasma screen hanging on the wall - little piece of art that is constantly moving, always beautiful and relaxing. Think of the disc as a nice little slice of design that can be had for cheap.

DVD Grade: Ahhh. Calming.
